Tracy Anderson: Still In The Media

I was just reading Fit Sugar when I came across the piece on the May 2011 issue of Self Magazine. Gwyneth Paltrow is on the cover. She is quoted saying “I never thought that I’d be considered to have a good body. I was bony up top and kind of dumpy on the bottom. But my trainer, Tracy Anderson, completely changed my legs, butt, arms and stomach. I feel better than ever, too.”

Reading that makes me want to pull out my Tracy Anderson videos but I know that I just can’t stand videos. I need to take an actual class. Also, I noted that Gwyneth didn’t say “my trainer and business partner.” I don’t mean to be a hater, but I wanted to point that out. I don’t know if many people are aware that they are business partners.

Since my interest in Tracy was peaked, I decided to go a google search and see where else she has popped up. I found an interesting personal essay that was published in the UK.

This Huffington Post article was also interesting. I should note that in this one, Gwyneth does refer to Tracy as her trainer and partner. I have to say that, in my opinion, this reads like an ad for Tracy’s videos. Apparently one of Gwyneth’s newletters focused on Tracy. I do love me before and after shots. They were very impressive although I’d need to learn more details.

Even Jessica Simpson has gone on the Tracy bandwagon. I wonder who will be next?

More Tracy Anderson Info

Due to all the Iron Man 2 promotion going on, I have been hearing, seeing and reading a lot about Gwyneth Paltrow lately. I know a lot of my blog readers (thank you guys!!) are huge Tracy Anderson fans and I like to keep you updated on what is going on. Most of what I’ve been reading is how Gwyneth was whipped into shape for this role. I have yet to see the movie so I have no idea if her body really changed that dramatically. But, nevertheless, I did want to point out Gwyneth’s recent GOOP newsletter in which she reveals all the ways Tracy got her into Iron Man 2 shape.

For My Tracy Anderson Sisters

Fitsugar.com has been posting about Gwyneth Paltrow and her weight gain for Iron Man 2. Tracy Anderson apparently had something to say about it as well.

I guess I will have to see Iron Man 2 to see for myself. I’ll probably wait for it to come out on NetFlix though.

Tracy, Tracy, Tracy

I suppose I should not be surprised that the cyber world is all abuzz about Tracy Anderson considering Gwynnie’s (stole that from Fitsugar) recent GOOP newsletter is all about her BFF. I just read this post on fitsugar.com. Check it out. No matter what the haters may be saying, I am sure Gwynnie and Tracy are holding hands and skipping all the way to the bank.

She’s Back…..

I received Gwyneth Paltrow’s newsletter, Goop. This time she focused on a Do and it’s all about her BFF, Tracy Anderson. Does anyone else realize that Gwyneth has a stake in Tracy’s new videos and gym? Do people even care?

In the newsletter, Gwynnie interviews her other BFFs, like Courteney Cox (unrelated but I never realized she spelled her name that way. Weird). Anyway, Courteney tells Goop how much she loves Tracy’s workouts and her “amazing” results that she “never thought possible.” Kristen Davis, among others, also reveal how Tracy has changed their bodies, their lives and their karma.

Please read the newsletter and let me know what you think.

Also, I heard through the grape vine that Tracy’s new dvds were finally shipped.  I don’t have any immediate plans to purchase them but if I hear good reviews, I may be tempted.

I had to add this link from another site, dlisted.com.  Hilarious!

Do Celebs Make A Difference?

I am not ashamed to admit that I love People Magazine.  My father has gotten me a subscription for Christmas every year for the past two years. I am also a huge fan of Perez Hilton. It’s no secret that people just love celebs.

But does that love translate to fitness videos? Do you think Tracy Anderson would be successful if she didn’t train Madonna or have Gwyneth Paltrow’s support? (By the way, do sign up for a free video at Tracy’s site.  She is also launching a few new videos. Even though I do HATE videos, I do love Tracy’s Mat one).

One new video that I am tempted to check out is Mandy Ingber’s Yoga Dvd, Yogalosophy. You have heard of her, right? Right???? She is Jennifer Aniston’s Yoga Instructor. Not only does the video promise an “amazing music soundtrack”, I am also allured by the two 30-minute routines. Does anyone own this video? I would love to hear reviews.

What’s New With Tracy Anderson?

Apparently, Gwyennie and Tracy have been having a hard time getting people to join their new gym. Clearly, no one is jumping at the opportunity to join a gym for a mere $4,500 and then pay hundreds of dollars each month. I still continue to receive emails inviting me to attend one of their informational sessions.  I was tempted to go but then I realized that I would probably get a very hard sell and did I want to put myself through that just to see Tracy in person??

This is one of the emails that I received:

I especially love how they included the line about her leaving the city to rejoin the set of Iron Man II. That cracked me up!

I realized that I have not been on Gwyenth’s site, goop, in a while so I ventured over there to check it out.  I was not surprised to see that there was a new Tracy video. Of course Gwyenth asked “the cutest, most motivated, most genius trainer on earth to jumpstart our spring fitness regimes“. Excuse me while I puke.

Now, I do enjoy Tracy’s Mat workout but I can’t stand her cardio routines.  All that jumping around makes me nauseous. However, I will admit she looks amazing!

800 People Joining Tracy & Gwyenth’s New Gym??

I’ve been reading that Gwyenth Paltrow’s mom recently joked that she would not be able to join her daughter’s new gym since like 800 people have joined.  If you google, you will find that a number of places have picked up on that story.  I don’t know if this was a publicity stunt or what.  As I blogged previously, the general manager emailed me and said that a 3 month membership would run 5k. I have so many friends who are out of work (Wall Street, writers, editors, you name it), that I really find it so hard to believe that is the case.

I really hope they offer the opportunity for us mere mortals to take one class at a time and check out the studio.

More Tracy Anderson Stuff

So, a few days ago, I clicked on a link on TA’s site to get more information on her new studio that is opening up in NYC.

I received an email back, asking for my cc information and saying that a 3 month membership was 5k.  Yes, $5,000!!!  The 5k gets you:

The Holiday Platinum Package includes:

3 Month Membership
30 Minute Private Consultation with Tracy Anderson
10 Private Training Sessions with One of Our Trainers
Unlimited Access to Classes
Nutritional Strategy to Follow

I emailed back asking when the studio would open.  No answer back yet.

Today, I read this article about  how Gwyneth Paltrow is considering helping Tracy Anderson open numerous studios.  It’s no surprise that she is financially helping TA.  No doubt, TA and GP are making bucks.  They appeared on Oprah for goodness sakes!  Plus, TA has been featured in tons of magazines (yeah, I read them all).  I also read a few other fitness forums and every time TA’s name is mentioned, people get all riled up!  I have never experienced such a thing before in my life.

Some of these women have said that since doing TA’s dvds, they have lost some serious weight and gained muscle.  I think that’s great for them.  If it’s working for you, then do it!  Do I buy what TA says that using the treadmill or taking spinning classes can make women’s legs bulky or that women should never lift more than 3 pounds?  Come on now!

I will definitely make an effort to check out her studio when it opens up.  I am definitely NOT going to pay 5k for a membership though.  Unless my husband decides to get me a great Valentine’s Day present!?!??!?!?

Another Discovery

I just discovered Gwyenth Paltrow’s website.  I’m not sure what it’s all about but click here if you want to see more.  It’s called goop.

She has a post on Tracy Anderson and I thought I’d share it with you all.   I read somewhere that when TA is traveling and cannot train GP, she sends her a video workout.  Supposedly this is one of those video workouts.  Even though I took a class at The Bar Method this morning, I had to try it.  It was great!   I like her personality and she somehow makes the moves fun and easy.  Well, she only did 5 or so reps per move but she said to do each one 20-3o times and to try to get up to 50.  I’m sure at that point I would not be smiling.

Try it.  You’ll like it.
